• Days 1-5  |  Your brows are approximately 20-40% darker, bolder, and more solid than your healed result. Under the pigment, the skin is red and pigment has been deposited into the layer of skin containing dead skin cells; combined giving the appearance of darker color. The top layers of skin will begin to shed on about day 5-7 days, and you will see a loss of color. This is normal. Do not scratch or pick!

  • Days 5-14  |  The skin is now rapidly exfoliating and will shed naturally if left alone. The color under the exfoliating skin will start to appear very light or not visible. Day by day it will start to appear darker. Please be patient and give the color a couple of weeks to become darker.

  • Days 30-40  |  Now is the time to critique your brows, the tattoo has now become part of the dermis, seen under the epidermis. At this time you can be thinking about your brows and your next appointment. Bolder, darker, add more strokes?

Approximate Daily Healing Schedule

  • Use good sunscreen after 1 month, sun exposure will fade your permanent cosmetics
  • If you are planning a chemical peel, or laser procedure please inform the technician/your care provider of your permanent cosmetics.
  • The use of RetinA/Tretinoin, chemical peels, acid peels, or any other rapid skin exfoliation products used on the forehead area will cause the permanent makeup of the eyebrow area to fade prematurely. You want to make sure to avoid applying these products on or around your brows. A finger-width distance is recommended.

Long-Term Care

Proper care following your procedure is necessary to achieve the best results. Keep in mind that in many cases, some unevenness of color is to be expected. Be careful to NOT touch the treated area other than directed for the first 24 hours.

HEALING INFORMATION

On the day of the procedure, you will come into my studio and we will start the numbing process. This includes cleaning the skin along with applying a small amount of lidocaine to the treated area. At this time you will fill out all necessary paperwork. Numbing takes 20 minutes, this does not completely make it to where you can't feel anything, but it takes the edge off and keeps you comfortable. We will start by taking before pictures, drawing on, and letting you approve your shape. You can let me know if you would like to make any changes at that time. Then we will talk about color that is suggested by diagnosing your skin type and your desired target color when healed. When going over the details I will always suggest something that is NATURAL for you. If we can not come to an agreement that is conservative I will NOT do the procedure. I want to make sure what you are choosing is right for you! The whole procedure takes about two hours. This includes walking in the door/paperwork & procedure. The actual act of doing the brow treatment is only about 45 min to an hour.

Microblading FAQ

DO YOU PROVIDE CONSULTATIONS?

Currently, we do not do in-person consultations. I like to have a fresh outlook on your brows or eyes to give my best artistic ability the day of the procedure. (Disclosure: If you have had Permanent makeup done elsewhere we WILL need to be sent a clear picture of the existing work and get the approval from me to take you on as a client.)

DO YOU HAVE TO SHAVE THE BROWS OFF?

No way! We want to keep as much hair as possible .

DOES GETTING PERMANENT MAKEUP HURT?

95% are cool as a cucumber when they are receiving permanent makeup. The numbing cream is a dream and most can only hear it and feel a little pressure. Side note: I have had several fall asleep during the procedure, and most even feel it is relaxin, so please do not worry about the pain.

For my WORK OUT CLIENTS

*Must be willing to not work out for 5 days after the procedure and not sweat for that time frame as well.*  Salt is a natural way to lift and remove pigment. Sweating before the ink has a chance to solidify in the skin can result in poor retention. Please take into consideration when booking.

WHAT IF I CHOOSE TO NOT DO PERMANENT MAKEUP AGAIN?

Let’s say you are worried about wearing them long-term. What if you don’t want to get retouches for life? No worries the pigment is designed to fade gradually off of the skin. I use the highest quality ink in my industry. This is tried and tested to be the most ideal pigment for your face. Only the best for my people!

ALL ABOUT THE SYMMETRY

While I strive to create optimal symmetry, perfection does not exist. In fact, when we create your brow we may have to take some off of the top of one brow and add to the bottom of the other. Our goal is to make small corrections so that we can build on this. Going off of your natural bone structure is always recommended.

What are PERFECTING APPOINTMENTS?

Perfecting appointments are done between weeks 5-12 and are not included in the initial price. Five weeks is the very earliest I could do it in 12 weeks is the very latest I could do it for being considered a perfecting appointment. Five weeks is the very soonest I can go back in and touch up. Sometimes I will recommend waiting until closer to the 6-8 week mark depending on your skin type. After that I recommend coming in for Touch-ups between 12-18 months, please note if you are an oilier skin type or choose a very light color touch-ups might need to be done earlier. There is always an exception but that is the average.
